I chose Image over a couple of other Dominican salons in the neighborhood and asked for Meyling based on the previous reviews, and am so glad I did. Yesterday I decided not to head to my regular salon because its usually $85 for natural hair blow dry/flat iron. I have really thick curly natural hair so I decided to search yelp for a salon and I came across Image in Columbia Heights. I called and they said they take walk-ins. It is 3 blocks from the metro which is a plus! Meyling (sp) greeted me when I walked in at 6pm. She immediately started to wash and deep condition my hair. I love the fact that she was welcoming and she also took her time to tame my hair. I havent been to a dominican salon in years because they gave me really bad heat damage but she did not… ~ Kilah S. of Washington DC

 

I have been having my hair cut at Image for about 5 years now. Mariana is the owner and does a great job. My hair is not complicated but I have always been pleased with her cut and you can not beat the price. Mariana is also bilingual (English and Spanish) if that is a concern. ~ Google User

 

I had a great experience at Image Hair Salon.  I don’t live in DC, but was in town for a job interview and needed my hair done.  I had never been to a Dominican salon, but am in the process of growing my relaxer out (about 4 months of new growth) and thought I would give it a try as I have heard good things.  I called to make an appointment and they were very flexible.  I had a wash/conditioner/set/blowout in about 2 hours.  Everyone was very polite and my hair turned out fantastic!  Smooth, bouncy, healthy! ~ D.A. of San Diego, CA
